The Joy of Having a Pet

What is good about having a pet?

Having a pet is truly a wise and beautiful choice. I have a Shiba Inu named Happy—in Chinese, we call him “Happy Happy” or “Lala.” He is more than a dog to me; he is my best friend.

Happy understands my emotions. He knows when I am angry, sad, crying, or excited. Even though he no longer lives with me now—since 2024, I’ve sent him to my grandma’s home—he is still close to my heart. My grandma’s house has a big open field where he can run freely, and there are many family members to take care of him. At my own home, he could only run inside, so I know he’s happier there.

I miss him often. Sometimes, I dream of walking or working with him again, just like before. To me, Happy is not only my pet but also my family—my loyal companion who brings comfort and peace to my heart.

I also have a dream. One day, I want to build a place called “The Village of Light.” It will be a big, open village surrounded by lakes, mountains, and trees. There will be gardens, cafés, libraries, and reading houses—a space where people can walk, talk, and share their dreams and stories. In this village, everyone will feel free, warm, and loved.

And of course, my dog Happy will live there with me—running in the fields, playing in the sunlight, and welcoming everyone who comes to this village of love and light.
