It is a place of mental and spiritual well-being

What is your favorite place to go in your city?

My Favorite Place in My City

Recently, I discovered a wonderful place for jogging, walking, and having deep conversations — the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum. It has become one of my favorite places in the city.

Last week, I went there to meet a friend. We had made a small agreement earlier: we want to move more in our daily life, even in simple ways like walking to buy groceries or riding a bicycle. Before meeting her, I actually walked to do my grocery shopping, and it already made me feel good and refreshed.

When I asked if she was free to go to the museum park, she said “yes” immediately — and that made me really happy. The place is peaceful, wide, and not crowded. The scenery is open, the buildings have beautiful angles, and even the air feels different.

What surprised me most was the outside park. I had visited the inside museum before, but I had never explored the whole outdoor area. My friend took me around the trails. She said it was about 3 km, but my watch said almost 9,000 steps — and we kept walking, jogging, and talking for about 90 minutes.

The environment itself is breathtaking.

There are many plants, flowers, trees, and open fields.

There are lakes with gentle water, reflecting the sky.

At night, the lake even shows a water dance, with lights shining on the moving water like a soft waterfall.

It feels like the world becomes brighter and more spacious in that moment.

While we walked, we talked about everything — our jobs, our graduate school assignments, our goals, and even our difficulties. Because we work and study at the same time, learning has become our best teacher. Reading the same books gives us more insight into our lives, our families, and the people we serve.

Studying and working together also remind us that failure doesn’t define us. It only teaches us to try a different way with more creativity.

Being in nature — especially in a place with so many different angles of beauty — helped my whole body and mind relax. Even now, when I think about that day, my heart becomes calm, soft, and peaceful again.

This place doesn’t only refresh me physically.

It also opens a quiet space for me to think, to breathe, and to speak with the Lord.

So this museum park is not just a physical location.

It is a place of mental and spiritual well-being — a place that invites me to slow down, admire beauty, and feel the Lord’s peace again.
